5 Days of MYER Denim

5 days of myer denimHow I styled 5 days of denim from MYER’s amazing denim range.

You know that yours truly practically lives in denim, from the skinny to the boyfriend (and those stolen from my boyfriend), and from lounging at home to the dressiest events. So for today’s editorial, I’ve teamed up with MYER to show you guys that there’s not only a denim piece for everyone, but one for every occasion too – yes, even the office.

Here’s how I spent 5 days in denim from MYER’s amazing denim range.

DAY 1: THE BOYFRIEND

Myer Denim-27 copy

The Denim

Big Star – ‘Billie’ Slouchy Skinny Boyfriend Crop Jean (in Castellina)

The Big Star Billie combines everything that’s good about the boyfriend jean, and none of the bad. It’s got that men’s style inspired slouchiness, slim-flit legs to show off those pins, and a cropped length with effortless-cool roll-up detailing. Best of all? That optimum comfort to style ratio.

Styling Notes

These boyfriend jeans would look amazing with just about anything, but my favourite is to go double boyfriend with a menstyle inspired shirt – this one is a Maison Scotch Mademoiselle shirt also available from MYER.

However it’s always important to incorporate at least one feminine piece. As this is my go to comfort outfit for running errands around town, I’ve chosen a sexy but comfortable strappy mid-heels.

Where to get it

The Billie boyfriend jean can be found at MYER’s denim department. Big Star is surprisingly affordable for its impeccable quality, which is bound to last you for years to come.

DAY 2: THE CIGARETTE JEAN

Myer Denim-56 copy

The Denim

AG Andriano Goldschmied – ‘Contour 360’ Prima Mid Rise Cigarette Jean

This is by far the most slimming pair of jeans I have ever worn. The length and rise are just perfect to flatter all the bits you may not be so proud of (my gigantic calves have never looked better!).

Styling Notes

The cotton texture of these jeans gives you the denim comfort and the trouser look, so you can definitely get away with this jean at the office or a smart casual occasion.

Treat these as you would a tailored trouser and pair with any smart casual top. I styled this jean with a Maison Scotch ‘Mademoiselle’ men’s style inspired shirt, also from MYER.

Where to get it

The AG Adriano Goldschmied Prima Mid Rise Cigarett Jean can be picked up in any MYER denim department, at the AG Adriano Goldschmied section. They are arranged by fit and cut, and this one is found under ‘Cigarette’ (to state the obvious!).

DAY 3: THE COATED JEANMyer Denim-51 copy

The Denim

DL1961 – River Low Rise Moto Skinny (in Toulouse)

This jean is coated to look deceivingly like leather, without the heat (and cost!). With a slightly cropped length, the River Moto Skinny looks amazing with both heels and flats.

Styling Notes

I styled my DL1961 Moto Skinny Jeans with a cool Kenzo shirt in bell sleeve cut, also available from MYER. This is a fashion forward but still professional client-meeting-appropriate outfit for all you creative entrepreneurs out there.

Where to get it

Find this jean in the extensive DL1961 section of your MYER denim department. The Perth City MYER I visited had an amazing range of DL1961 jeans.

DAY 4: TRIPPLE DENIM

Myer Denim-41 copy

The Denim

True Religion – ‘Halle’ Super Skinny Baseball Stitch Jeans
Wrangler – Chambray shirt and Denim Jacket

If you’ve never liked the skinny jean, then this is the pair you’ve got to try. Not only is the design of the True Religion Halle super slimming, but the distressed detailing draws the eyes away from all your problem areas.

Styling Notes

While the skinny jean is amazing with a pair of classic pumps, I also love to wear them rolled up with sneakers.

I went triple denim with these True Religion jeans and Wrangler chambray shirt and denim jacket. This is the perfect outfit for brunching with friends (or frenemies), when you want to look amazing, without having even tried.

Where to get it

True Religion is a pure ‘designer jean’, with everything that comes with it – the incredible quality, the amazing figure loving fits, and unique but classic designs. True Religion and Wrangler are both available from MYER’s denim department.

DAY 5: THE WHITE JEAN

Myer Denim-13 copy

The Denim

DL1961 – ‘Emma’ Distressed White Denim Leggings (in Dove).

Can a white jean be slimming? Absolutely. Before you dismiss the white jean as a style that’s just not for you, you’ve got to give the DL1961 Emma white denim legging a try. That figure hugging stretch fabric and strategically placed ripped detail will make anyone’s legs look amazing – trust me.

Styling Notes

I styled my DL1961 Emma denim leggings tonally with a big grey turtle neck knit by Country Road, and this absolutely amazing Jayson Brunsdon coat, all available from MYER. Remember, rugging up for winter survival doesn’t have to look bulky. Always balance out a heavy top with fitted bottoms. A lighter colour compared with the top also helps.

Where to get it

As mentioned above, MYER has an amazing range of DL1961 jeans. Next time you are in the neighbourhood, set aside a bit of you-time to try a few on. I just know you’ll become a DL1961 (and white jean) convert!
